Little Runner Girl

Yesterday I went cross country skiing... it had been about two weeks since me and Kyle's last skiing adventure and our bodies reminded us of that. It's amazing how quickly you can lose any sort of endurance that is built up.  I ended up burning about 900 calories yesterday.  It was A.M.A.Z.I.N.G.!!

I got to talking with my hubby about how much I love XC Skiing. He thinks I'm nuts, it's not that he doesn't like doing it, he does, he just doesn't LOVE it as much as I do. Our conversation today went something like:
Him: "I just don't understand why you are so crazy about it"
Me: "I dunno, I just like how it makes me feel. I mean I feel so great afterwards"
Him: "so in other words you like working out..."

LOL and in all honesty I guess he's right. I have been such a slacker with working out since the summer and it's starting to show, my pants are tight and even my wedding ring is feeling a little snug.

I had been counting my calories for a while, but I just haven't been as disciplined as I once was. I'm really missing out on that 'burning calories' side.

SOOOoooo I went for a run today... I can't even REMEMBER how long ago it has been since I went for an actual run. Here let me look back in  my blogs.... October 19th, it's been over 3 MONTHS! Yikes.  Well I got out and ran around Lake Calhoun. Not the normal 'situation' because I didn't make it all the way around running and I didn't expect to. But I did hit each mini goal I set for myself. I started with a 10 minute run, then walked for 5, then ran for 5, walk-5, then I finished with a run until I got back to my starting point which ended up being another 14 minute run. 10-5-14 isn't bad. I gotta start somewhere right?
