It's a new year

and for most people that would mean some sort of working out/losing weight new years resolution. I'm not really making that type of resolution... but I do need to get back at being healthy again.

I'm sad to admit my goal of making it through December doing my month workout and counting calories didn't last past day 21..... and whatever weight I lost at the start of December is now back on, plus another 3 or 4 pounds :-(

So today I am counting again... counting, counting, counting. Banana = 121 calories, .4g fat, 1g sodium, 31g carbs, 3.5g fiber and 1.5g protein. Yes I am that strict, but if I'm not then I pack on the pounds. It's a problem, it's a problem I think I'll have to deal with for the rest of my life. It stinks that I am not one of those girls that can just eat whatever I want, workout whenever I feel like it and have the body only seen in magazines. Instead I will work at it and I will feel good about myself because I can make progress and see results from working hard.

So my plan is to watch what I eat and make that my top priority. I have found my body responds best to that. And any working out I do will just be bonus.

Kyle and I tried Cross-Country Skiing for the first time this past weekend, and I LOVED it! I am so excited to go again! We're going to go this weekend, but I wish I could go EVERYDAY it was so much fun! And another fun part of it was that it gave my body a workout, I am still feeling it today and that makes me feel good! I forgot to wear my HRM (heart rate monitor) last weekend, but I will try and remember when we go next. I'm really interested to know how many calories I burn. I love those kinds of workouts that are fun but beneficial.
