Strength Training

I've gotten to the point where running just isn't doing anything for my body. It's making my heart feel good... but everything else is getting flabby! I need more strength training in my routine. Way back when (over a year ago) when I was preparing for my wedding, I felt so great and toned... and I was lifting weights almost four times a week. SO I've decided to put strength training back into my workouts... hopefully being able to keep up with it all. I still plan to run Tue & Thur... and do some weights on those other days.

Monday I got up with Kyle and just did what he did - a full body workout. It didn't feel very hard. I did feel it in my chest muscles the next day... but I didn't even sweat!

So Monday night I sat down and wrote out my own 'girly' workout. With my lovely Women's Health magazines I sat down and got something that would work what I wanted Abs, Legs, Arms & Shoulders, and Chest & Back. Girl workouts are much different from boys. But the great thing about strength training is I'm not 'running' around the whole time, it is work but not as 'much work' as cardio. AND since I'm building muscle my body will be burning more calories throughout the day so it's okay that I'm not burning a ton of calories for the 30 minutes or so of weight lifting.

Wednesday morning went much better for me, I was even sweating :-)
