Today Kyle and I went for a run down Cedar Lake Trail. I usually always run down this trail, lately I've just been going to hwy 100 and back which is about 1.7 miles. Today we went past hwy 100 (the trail goes under the highway) to Cedar Lake (a little over 2 miles) then decided to walk back.
Once we passed hwy 100 the trail opened up to a separate bike path (two lanes for each direction) and a separate pedestrian path, that runs along side a railroad. Gesh I wish I had pictures it's so much easier than trying to explain with words. Anywho, as soon as we passed we spotted a deer, we didn't stop - still running and bicyclist, rollerbladers, runners and walkers still around us. Then a few yards over we spotted a fawn and another deer. It was rather beautiful and affirmed my love for this city. It's amazing how we were running from our house TOWARD Minneapolis (skyline in full view) and yet we still have this amazing wild life all around us!!! This is why I love it here!
Now I we could just go to a beach home during February and March, life would be perfect ;-P
