New Accomplishment

I met a new accomplishment today! Kyle and I went for a run to his new work and back. His new job is about 3 miles away. I just mapped my run (www.mapmyrun.com) and we ended up running 5.8 miles. Now I'm kicking myself we didn't run a little farther to it would be an even 6 miles. We ran to where the trail meets his building and back.

It was actually a pretty easy run, I kept pace by watching my HRM... which I've never really done before. My running buddy Sally, is really good at keeping a steady pace so I usually just follow her lead. But today I knew my goal was to finish and not be exhausted when I did, so I kept an eye on my HRM and stayed around 175 bpm until the last mile we picked it up to around 185 bmp. We finished the last .3 miles at 190 bmp or pushing myself to get there I was probably about 188 bmp most of the way. It was a nice strong finish!!!!! and such a great feeling. I love running!! I pray for strong healthy leg joints so that I can keep up this hobby :-)

PS I know I've been slacking about posting my runs... after my goal of the 5K I kinda lost motivation to keep track. Sally and I have been running every Tues, Thursday, and Saturday's when we're both in town (expect one Tuesday we had off due to rain). It was nice to have a new goal for today, it gave me something to look forward to! Maybe every Sunday or when we have time, my weekly goal can be a 6 mile run with Kyle.
